THE 414s is a short documentary that tells the story of the first widely recognized computer hackers, a group of Milwaukee teenagers who gained notoriety in 1983 when they broke into dozens of high-profile computer systems, including the Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Their story became a national media frenzy, frightening a nation previously ignorant to the capabilities of computer interconnectivity.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS
MICHAEL T. VOLLMANN - DIRECTOR
Michael has worked in film & television for the past 8 years in Los Angeles and Milwaukee. His credits include "MECCA: The Floor That Made Milwaukee Famous" ESPN (Editor), "The Jeffrey Dahmer Files" SXSW '12/IFC (Director of Photography), as well as numerous shows for CBS, 20th Television, MTV & HBO. Michael won the 2013 Milwaukee Filmmaker-in-Residence award for his short film "Before You" which went on to win the Wisconsin Film Festival (2014).
CHRIS JAMES THOMPSON - PRODUCER
Chris is an award-winning director & producer in Milwaukee. His first feature "The Jeffrey Dahmer Files" premiered in competition at the SXSW Film Festival (2012), became a New York Times Critics Pick, and was acquired by IFC for distribution. Chris recently completed the short documentary, "MECCA: The Floor That Made Milwaukee Famous" which was released by ESPN as part of their '30-for-30' series. He also has credits on the films: The Pool (Winner-Sundance Film Festival, 2007), Collapse (Toronto International Film Festival, 2009) and Suffering & Smiling (Winner-Human Rights Watch Film Festival, 2006).

DIDIER LEPLAE & JOE WONG - ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK
Didier and Joe partnered in 2004 and began crafting unique compositions for award-winning films and TV programs. Experimenting with genres and exploring sonic terrains, they've amassed a body of work that spans several musical styles. Leplae and Wong work out of a recording studio equipped with homemade instruments, experimental electronics, analog tape machines, and a unique collection of instruments from their extensive international travels. Their work has garnered praise from the New York Times, Time, NPR, Chicago Sun-Times, Variety, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone.
